Welcome to Kalon Afrika Foundation, a non-governmental charity organization dedicated to fostering community development and empowerment in Fort Portal and the surrounding areas of the Rwenzori region in Uganda.
Our Mission
At Kalon Afrika Foundation, our mission is clear: to create and extend opportunities for vulnerable communities and families. Through empowerment, entrepreneurship building, talent development, and advocacy, we aim to uplift those facing significant challenges and provide them with the tools they need to build sustainable livelihoods and brighter futures.
Our Roots
Established in 2022, Kalon Afrika Foundation was born out of a deep commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those most in need. Our journey began in Nyansozi, Karambi, Uganda, where the stark realities of vulnerable livelihoods, limited access to education, and environmental challenges inspired us to take action.

Direct Community Engagement: Unlike other organizations, we locate our main office within the communities we serve, fostering direct communication, follow-up, and cohesion for more effective and sustainable development.

Holistic Approach: We believe in addressing the diverse needs of individuals and families through a comprehensive range of programs, including education support, entrepreneurship training, skills development (including sports and music), and advocacy for sustainable development.

Personalized Support: Kalon Afrika Foundation brings a personal touch to everything we do. Our team, comprised of passionate individuals supported by a dedicated Board, works tirelessly to create lasting impacts and tailor our support to meet the specific needs of each community and family.

Focus on Vulnerable Children: Our focus is on creating hope and a future for vulnerable children and families who have lost all hope. We prioritize support for children from single-parent households or orphaned/abandoned backgrounds, ensuring they have access to quality education, sports, and opportunities for personal growth.
Our Impact
Since our official launch on February 3rd, 2023, Kalon Afrika Foundation has made significant strides in supporting vulnerable families in Nyansozi and beyond. Despite resource constraints, we have already begun supporting 10 families, with plans to expand our reach in the future. Our ultimate goal is to create hope and a future for the vulnerable children and families in our community, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential.
