Saturday, 19 September 2026, was a truly special and memorable day for Kalon Afrika Foundation Belgium & Uganda.

We were honoured to host Her Excellency Ambassador Mirjam Blaak, Ambassador of Uganda to Belgium, together with her delegation. We were also pleased to welcome Schepen Maarten Blondeel and Schepen Marieke De Vos from the City of Oudenaarde, members of the community, and special guests from Uganda.

🤝 The meeting was an important opportunity to strengthen our partnerships, share our progress, and discuss the next steps in the development of our organisation and the communities we serve.

🤝 KALON AFRIKA STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING 2026 | UGANDA 🇺🇬

Kalon Afrika Foundation recently hosted a stakeholders’ meeting in Uganda, bringing together our leadership, government representatives, community leaders, parents, beneficiaries and other key stakeholders.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to share the progress of the organisation, give accountability to community leaders and our stakeholders, receive feedback, and discuss the way forward for our programmes and beneficiaries.

Among the key areas discussed were:

🔹 Progress and achievements of Kalon Afrika
🔹 Education and wellbeing of our beneficiaries
🔹 Feedback from parents, students and community leaders
🔹 Challenges and areas requiring further attention
🔹 Strengthening partnerships within our communities
🔹 Opportunities for future collaboration with government and other institutions

We were encouraged by the positive engagement and constructive discussions, particularly the potential for stronger collaboration between Kalon Afrika and the Government of Uganda in the future.

At Kalon Afrika, we believe that accountability, transparency and community participation are essential to building programmes that genuinely respond to the needs of the people we serve.

We sincerely thank all government officials, community leaders, parents, beneficiaries, partners and other stakeholders who took the time to participate and contribute to this important conversation.

We are delighted to welcome our student beneficiaries back home for their holiday after successfully completing their Second Trimester of the 2026 school year. 🎓👏

It is always a special moment for us to see our students return home safely, reconnect with their families and communities, and share their experiences from school.

Our students will enjoy their holiday before returning to school on 14 September 2026 for the Third and final Trimester of the school year.

We are proud of their commitment, hard work and progress, and we continue to encourage each of them to remain focused on their education, develop their talents and work towards achieving their dreams.

🕊️ KALON AFRIKA FOUNDATION UGANDA & BELGIUM TRIBUTE TO HIS MAJESTY OMUKAMA OYO NYIMBA KABAMBA IGURU IV It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that Kalon Afrika Foundation Uganda & Belgium, together with our partners, supporters, volunteers, and friends around the world, joins the people of Tooro Kingdom and the entire Rwenzori region in mourning the passing of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV, King of Tooro. His Majesty ascended to the throne at the tender age of three years, becoming one of the youngest reigning monarchs in the world. He officially assumed his responsibilities as Omukama upon reaching the age of 18, taking on the enormous responsibility of leading the people of Tooro. He sadly passes on at only 34years of age. His life and journey as King have been an inspiration to many, particularly the young people of Tooro and the Rwenzori region. From a very young age, His Majesty demonstrated that age does not have to be a limitation to responsibility, leadership, service, and the pursuit of a greater vision for society. His passing is therefore not only a loss to the Royal Family, but to the entire Tooro Kingdom, the Rwenzori region, Uganda, and the many people around the world who admired his leadership and legacy. Our connection to Tooro Kalon Afrika Foundation Uganda operates and implements community initiatives within areas under the Tooro Kingdom. The people we serve, the children we support, and the communities with whom we work are part of this great Kingdom with our head offices in Uganda located in Karambi Nyansozi, Fort Portal City, Rwenzori region under the Tooro Kingdom. For this reason, the passing of His Majesty has a profound impact on all of us. We will deeply miss his leadership, his kingship, and the hope and inspiration he represented to generations of people in the region. As the Kingdom enters this period of nine days of mourning leading to the laying to rest of His Majesty on 12 September in Karambi, Kalon Afrika Foundation joins the Royal Family, the Kingdom leadership, the Batooro, the Rwenzori community, and the entire nation in mourning together as one community. At the same time, we choose to celebrate the life, leadership, and legacy of His Majesty. Carrying forward his vision As Kalon Afrika Foundation, committed to community development, education, youth empowerment, and creating opportunities for vulnerable children, we recognise the importance of continuing the dreams and aspirations His Majesty held for the people of Tooro. Kalon Afrika Foundation pledges to continue doing our part to support the education of children in the region, nurture the potential of young people, and contribute to the social and economic development of Tooro and the wider Rwenzori region. We will also remain committed to working closely with the leadership of Tooro Kingdom and our partners to contribute to the long-term aspirations of the Kingdom and to the realisation of the vision of and aspirationsof Tooro region. Onze vzw Kalon Afrika Foundation Belgium heeft een lege 20ft zeecontainer geschonken gekregen van onze partner RV Solutions. We zijn op zoek naar een bedrijf of persoon die ons kan helpen om deze container te vervoeren van Welden (9700 Oudenaarde) naar Mater (Natendries, 9700 Oudenaarde).

Ondertussen hebben we al verschillende bedrijven gecontacteerd, waaronder Bert Containers, maar helaas heeft nog niemand ons kunnen helpen omdat het om een zeecontainer gaat. Daarom hopen we dat iemand uit deze groep een goede tip, contactpersoon of bedrijf kent dat dit transport wel kan uitvoeren.

Alle suggesties of aanbevelingen zijn van harte welkom. Ook als iemand bereid is ons hierbij te helpen of ons in contact kan brengen met de juiste persoon, zouden we daar enorm dankbaar voor zijn.
